Convocation & Immersion FAQs

The PALI Annual Convocation & Immersion is the moment PALI Executive Leaders are Sent Forth as PALI Convocation Fellows. At Convocation we move from Zoom to Fellow — from learning together to being sent forth into a lifetime PALI Convocation Fellows. It marks your entry into a community of senior leaders across Africa and the Diaspora. It combines a 3-day convening in-country with a global broadcast, so Fellows can be honored either in person or from their nation.

A PALI Convocation Fellow is a PALI Executive Leader who has completed their course and been Sent Forth at Convocation. Fellows receive a lifetime title, sash, certificate, and access to the PALI Convocation Fellows Directory and community. This model is benchmarked with institutions like HBS, INSEAD, Wharton, and Aspen.

• PALI Alumni = Completed a course. Free community access.
• PALI Convocation Fellow = Completed course + Convocation Contribution. Lifetime Fellow title, sash, certificate, directory, fellowship benefits.

At PALI, the certificate bearing the PALI Convocation Fellow designation is presented at Convocation as part of being Sent Forth. Your course completion is recorded on your transcript. You are welcome to register for a future Convocation & Immersion to be Sent Forth and receive your certificate at that time.

One Fellowship. Two Seats. You choose how you will be honored:

• In Council: Join us for 3 days in-country for the convening, meals, networking, and to receive your sash and certificate on stage.
• In Council — From Your Nation: Join the live global broadcast from your country. Your name will be called and you will appear on the big screen in the hall. Your sash, certificate, and honor package will be sent to you.

Both seats confer the same lifetime PALI Convocation Fellow status and honor.

The contribution is not for travel. It covers the same for all Fellows: the ceremony, sash, certificate, global broadcast production, faculty, and your place in the lifetime PALI Convocation Fellows. Whether you are on stage in-country or on the screen from your nation, you are Sent Forth with equal honor.

The Convocation Contribution for 2027 is $250. It confers lifetime PALI Convocation Fellow status and includes: venue, meal for those attending in-country, sash, certificate, global broadcast, faculty, and listing in the Convocation Fellows Directory. It also includes priority access to The PALI Global Leaders Club.

Courier and mailing of the Honor Pack for Fellows From Your Nation is arranged separately.

Yes. You may change from "From Your Nation" to "In Council — Harare" up until the RSVP deadline of 31st October 2026, subject to space and visa requirements.

Course Tuition and Convocation Contribution are separate. The contribution confers lifetime PALI Convocation Fellow status and covers venue, sash, Advanced Leadership Certificate, broadcast production, and mailing.

• Convocation Only ($250): Saturday, 27th February 2027
• Full Immersion Experience = Global Conference + Awards + Convocation ($350): Friday 26th & Saturday 27th February 2027

• Pathway B — Global Conference & Awards Only — US$150: Friday 26th February 2027. For Guests and Delegates.
• Pathway C — Full Experience (Best Value) — US$350: Friday 26th – Saturday 27th February 2027. Includes Conference + Awards + Convocation.

Yes. Witnessing Convocation is FREE — anyone can witness Senior Leaders being Sent Forth. The Convocation Contribution applies ONLY to the Class of 2027 and Alumni being Sent Forth as PALI Convocation Fellows.

To fully participate in the conference and awards: Pathway B — Global Conference & Awards Only — US$150, Friday 26th February 2027.

Optional activities include the Global Conference & Awards Ceremony, and Heritage Tours to Victoria Falls, Great Zimbabwe Monuments, and the Pan-African Museum in Harare. These can be booked and paid for on arrival in Zimbabwe.
